As I mentioned in a previous post, I found myself all too caught up in the case of missing Caylee Anthony. I'm sure most of you have heard the news by now that they have found her remains and all indications point toward her mother being responsible.

As a mother of 4, I just can't wrap my mind around such things. It's just not humanly possible.

This post is a dedication to little angel, Caylee Marie Anthony. The audio of this video was taken just days before Caylee disappeared and I find it ironic that she's singing the song "You are my Sunshine".

..."Please don't take (my) sunshine away."

Caylee, in Heaven the sun never stops shining.

Rest in peace little one.

... and I mean that quite literally.

(It's a tad slow to start, but you really must see it through!)

Count them.... 13 Candles

I am in disbelief.
13?
13??
13!!!!!!!!

OIY, I'm feeling very old right now. Hard to believe it was 13 years ago that my first born son came into the world.

What is it about taking our children to see Santa? I mean, really. Stop and think about it a second. Is there any other time of year that you walk up and hand your child to a perfect stranger in the mall? No! And you ESPECIALLY don't hand them over to creepy old men who are well overdue for a shave.

So why do we do it? And why are we surprised when our sweet children take one look at the white haired, fat, beady eyed old man and let out a blood curdling scream!? And why do we keep going back? Year after year, child after child, generation after generation. All in attempt to get a single bank breaking, over-priced picture of our children sitting on the laps of symbolized commercialism at it's best!

*rolleyes*

Sorry I'm not trying to be a grinch. I just think it's silly is all.

I must say, that video is pretty darn funny though!

Did you know that's really a word? A Gossipmonger is a person habitually engaged in idle talk about others. Which brings me to my thoughts for the day: Why do woman gossip?

HEY NOW, don't go hiding from me. You know you're just as guilty as the next. To some, gossiping is like second nature!

According to Wikipedia:

Gossip is idle talk or rumor, especially about the personal or private affairs of others.

You know what I am talking about right? We all have friends who nitpick, sensationalize, over-think and scrutinize others.

An ancient African proverb says,

"If a woman speaks two words, take one and leave the other".

I was recently in a position where I found myself analyzing a particular part of my life. (Okay, okay, I was sitting in a car for over 12 hrs with nothing better to do with my time) I understand, it's easy to sit and judge others from afar. To point, snicker and comment on their situation.

...But when the table turns on you what are you left with? You're left with a feeling of mistrust and uncertainty. Where does that get you? How does one think gossip will improve or change the situation? It doesn't, it just puts up walls and pops the bubble called trust between friends.

I stumbled upon a blog recently. I won't share the link. It's an Adoption blog, only their Adoption has no happy ending like ours. They speak of wanting to disrupt. They have not attached to the children and the entire situation sounds like pure hell. For awhile now, I've judged this person. I've wanted to share the link with others and talk about how awful this family must be. I've come to realize, when it all comes down to it... I have no right! I am not in their shoes therefore I don't know how bad it truly must be for them.

I've met many families along the way that are taking a similar Journey as we are with Chiari Malformation and Pseudotumor Cerebri. (The conditions my son NJ suffers from) While I like to think we're all on the same journey, our stories are just as alike as they are different! It's hard sometimes for some of us to remember that and I think we can get carried away in our comparisons. It's hard for me to sit and listen to family after family talking about and comparing their children to one another.

I want to be a better person. I'm going to better myself and quit judging the Adoptive parents who want to disrupt and the parents that we've questioned just how sick their child really was. I'm going to try my hardest to keep the behaviors of other people and my opinions of them to myself.

Just saying.

Hey- maybe that will be my New Year resolution? GAH, sorry for the deep post. No more 12 hr road trips for me! *wink*

I know you're thinking, what's this? No BSM, no Deep Thought Tuesday!?

I'm sorry. I'm busy packing and cleaning and getting ready for a 12 hr road trip with 4 children and a sleep deprived husband. Now doesn't that sound like FUN!?!

AHEM. NOT.

We are headed back to Chicago as my son NJ has a followup appointment with his Neurosurgeon. This is a 3 month post-op checkup. Gosh, I can't believe it's been that long! He's had ups and downs along the way and unfortunately, he's currently in a downward slope. I'm really glad we have this appointment because I'm starting to really get concerned about some of his recent symptoms. I hope and pray that nothing's broken or malfunctioning. Of course, it's probably just the weather! (If all of this is new to you and you'd like to read more about NJ see his Caringbridge linky dink on my sidebar ------>)

I am looking forward to a little vacation with the family. We plan on doing some fun things while in the windy city! Medieval Times, Science and Industry Museum, Children's Museum, Navy Pier, Legoland Adventures, American Girl Store, Sears Tower.... etc etc etc. In fact, there's so much to do and so little time. We wont' be able to do it all unfortunately.

I'll have limited internet access while we're gone. I will try and check in, but no promises. I'll be back to my regularly scheduled programing next week. *hehe*
